Laser Cutter...

The college have finally bought a laser cutter, and i took the oppurtunity to have a go when the workshop was quiet... it's all very exciting.

 

 

 

Max Suffield....

So this post is a tad bit delayed, but we came back to college in October to find that Max Suffield had been made redundant, which seems completely unfair and unreasonable considering the cost of tuition fees and how central Max was to everyones practice, but thats another story... As a way to say thankyou to Max for his continued support, advice and honesty over the past 2 years I made him a piece of work, and bought him a pint of course.

Feeling a bit lost today....i don't want to be a product designer...why can't i just make nice things :/

...also I NEED to get some dissertation work done... maybe tomorrow.

Andy Warhol

...even though I've seen Andy Warhols work "in the flesh" in Paris, and have always liked his work, i've never been that inspired by it to be completely honest. Not that i don't like it, it just has never related to my work...but today i have discovered his early work as an illustrator and I've got to say I really love it...particularly this piece which features numbers, as this is something i have been considering in my own work lately, stemming from the number "13" but more about that at another time.

 Some of this other early work is good too...

Thursday...

been very productive today, lots of work and ideas for work coming together. My work is very emotionally draining since it became so self indulgant, but i'm very happy with the direction its going in... here are some pictures of my desk...

is a day for a lot of thinking and seeing what i can put through a typewriter :)
